Ep. 33: The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo!

shelby woo

For the first time ever, we watched a show that was new to ALL of us!  Perhaps for good reason?  This episode we take on The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, an adolescent investigative whodunnit that we collectively loved to hate.  The ’90s fashion was on point but the mumbling dialogue and loose plot line left a lot to be desired.  Fear not though, even bad stuff makes for good banter.  Grab your umbrellas for this shit storm, and watch out for the quicksand!

Yaaaay! Aunt Jessi, Uncle Jessie and Mama Moonbeam are  back and ready to take you on a nostalgic adventure with The Muppet Show! Jim Henson’s birthday would have been this past Tuesday, so we decided to time travel back to the seventies and pay him homage. We examined a John Denver guest appearance from season 4 that kept us laughing and signing the whole time. And sure, The Muppet Show may not have started off on Nickelodeon, but it landed there eventually and influenced us all.

Ep. 28: Figure It Out!

Back 1997, it wasn’t creepy for adults to encourage children to keep secrets, as long as slime was involved. At least, that’s what we learned this week from watching classic Nickelodeon game show “Figure It Out”! Join us, as we join host Summer Sanders, as SHE joins an all star panel of contestants trying to learn the darkest secrets of random Orlando tweens. What will be Figured Out in today’s episode? All we can say is that it involves lizards, tongues, and Home Improvement’s Taran Noah Smith. Mmmmm, Beefy!

Have you ever wanted a puppet mayor?  Do you like old timey cartoons and baby announcers?  Then hop in the Weinerizer, bring you imaginary elephant friend, and get ready to hang with Captain Bob in Weinerville!  You might just win the golden hotdog or meet Socko!  Somehow it’s all supposed to tie in with a fitness theme, but we have no idea why or how…  Don’t worry though, because glam rock Teddy Grahams are here to stay!  We’re 27 episodes in and still going strong, so thanks for joining us on this wild ride!

Episode 26: Gullah Gullah Island

unnamed

Do you have feelings?  Do your feelings have feelings?  Do your feelings often coexist among other feelings and sometimes battle for dominance?  Well, then this episode of the Vital Information for Everyday Life podcast might just be the soul soothing bowl of feelings soup that you’ve been searching for.  In this 26th episode your favorite trio of weirdos explores Gulla Gulla Island, a ’90s show with a mellow vibe that tricks children into processing their emotions through song.  Sometimes there’s live action, sometimes animation, sometimes a guy in a frog suit, but always plenty of doll making peer pressure and dolphin screen swipes for everyone!

Episode 25: You Can’t Do That On Podcasts!

Friends, go to the medicine cabinet and pull out your Ritalin because you’re going to need it as the Triumphant Trio tackles the most ADD-inducing sketch comedy show for kids, You Can’t Do That On Television! It’s such a daunting task to review this 15 year (1979-1994) spanning show that your heroes call in the help of special guest, Bill, who lived through the whole thing. This “bad jackson” episode rings in at an hour long (our longest yet), as there is so much to break down. Strap in, make sure you have on clean underwear, and NEVER admit that you don’t know!
